New Year = Old Habits?

How busy is the gym going to be today? 

You know it's going to be crazy in the gym with all these 
New Year resolution people...

(Give them two or three months and they are gone.) 

Well, even for us experienced people yesterday I wrote an email about 
how when I was learning how to ski I didn't take a lesson or have the 
proper equipment and how hard it was and even though I eventually 
taught myself.  I could have excelled much faster without the pain and 
embarrassment of little kids flying by me as I crashed every few feet
down the mountain.  

Lifting I was sort of the same way for me...

I went to the gym after school with my buddies and sometimes even 
alone. It was Gold's Gym in Milford, CT and I was there 3 hours a day. 

I wasted so much time until I eventually hired trainer for his 3 session 
special for under a hundred. He wasn't that friendly of a guy and was in 
the click of huge guys that hung out at the juice bar and they all looked 
up to him. So he takes my money and walks me through a three on and 
one off plan and gives me a six meal a day nutrition plan. It wasn't all 
that personal of an experience but I did see more results from following 
his plan. 

One thing I remember is this other guy with a big chest who was always 
there each day like me and he comes over and asks me "Hey, did you sign up 
for training?" 

I wasn't sure if he was going to laugh but I said "Yes", then he said, "That's 
cool and I should sign up for that too but I don't want to spend the money." 

WOW - I thought he was going to laugh at me. 

It's 2012 right now - go ahead and take on some new habits and get 
more results than ever this year around. Don't get stuck in old habits.
