"Breaking News" on celebrity fitness trainer
Published: Thu, 02/24/11
Hi,
If you are on my mailing list from one of my websites you may know
that I produce a fitness event titled "Fitness Atlantic".
It is coming up April 16th and I found a new venue that is incredible!
It is going to be held at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT.
The venue is so MASSIVE that I wanted to incorporate a fitness interactive
demo in the 22,000 square foot "Dome".
I wanted to hire a fitness celebrity trainer and also
include all of the local trainers I know in gyms and studios around my state.
The thing is my Fitness and Bodybuilding show isn't well accepted by the
local gym owners. Actually they pretty much can't
stand us "hardcore fitness people". But, that's another story and one I talk about
more on our new radio show on FTNS Radio.
So I set out on a mission to find the most popular fitness celebrity to bring
into the show that would draw the attention of the gyms, supplement stores,
and mass media.
I thought about and tried to hire Jillian Michaels of the Biggest Loser, then
I tried Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of Jersey Shore, and I worked on others
but came very close to hiring those two mentioned.
But this other guy kept coming up - - -
A guy I felt may not draw the gym owners attention because he was a
home exercise product guy but his name kept coming up and when it did
people didn't really have anything negative to say like they did of others
we were considering.
There was a certain respect for this guy.
I couldn't find the right connection for him
and then as I was coming down to the wire and time was running out -
no celebrity signed and getting close - things came together fast.
We Got Him!
More than likely you have seen the P90x commercials.
I cannot tell you how maybe people I have met that have said they are, "trying P90x".
And from everyone I know that has tried it - they say, "It's tough".
And the people that stick to it are Getting Results.
As of Nov 2010 over 3 Million copies of P90x,
a home exercise system created by Tony Horton have been sold.
P90X's emphasizes "muscle confusion", a method of cross training and periodization achieved through switching the order of exercises and incorporating new and varied movements. Muscle confusion supposedly prevents the body from adapting to exercises over time, resulting in continual improvement without plateaus.
The contract is set and his plane tickets from LA are purchased and only know waiting
for him to approve the poster - then the mainstream advertising will began.
I talked to one guy yesterday that runs workshops and he said "Tony will draw
1,000 people to that event!"
Even the local media is waiting for this to be set - they want more information.
And they want to show up!
Also something interesting is Tony was born in Rhode Island and grew up in
Trumbull, CT. So, it's also a plus that a local guy made it big time in exercise
and now he will be part of our show this year.
Other thing - He is actually doing the workout and you can do it with him!
Plus doing question and answer and signing autographs and doing photos.
