First off some people are
crazy...
People just go ahead and make stuff up and spread rumors.
Out of nowhere they email somebody they really don't know and write -
"That guy only thinks about himself and he didn't do this and that."
Another time I got a message from another someone saying -
"I heard you didn't like me for some reason."
Sometimes your on Facebook but you don't see things in your newsfeed and sometimes you don't know if somebody going through a hard time you should share and start talking about...
Sometimes you don't say anything and people take it the wrong way.
No matter much whatever you do you could be getting yourself in trouble and you didn't even see it coming.
Anyway... let's talk about my
truck.
My check engine light comes on and in my Range Rover it comes on for anything - by accident you put in cheap gas it comes on, or like me you don't allow it to warm up in the winter and turn it on - stick it in reverse and try to back up and it stalls - anyway I have been driving around with the stupid check engine light for months. Until finally I drop it off to Land Rover and of course it's a
Friday so it's not ready at the end of the day and I'm stuck with no ride for the weekend. As I remember the words "Never give up your rig..."
So Monday comes and I get the truck back - they changed the oil, put on new tires, and did the front brakes (and reset the check engine light) or so I thought...
I
get in the truck and the check engine light is on again... here we go.
They keep the truck another day and give me a little beater loaner car to drive home and tell me I have to bring it back with just as much gas as when it left.
So now it's Tuesday and I call the guy at the service desk and he says "we
found the problem and the part will be in soon - but you could still drive it". I ask what's the part?
He says, the engine.
Are you kidding me - I need an engine?
So now I'm waiting for the part - been 3 weeks gone by - still no
part and still waiting.
The main part that makes everything work he calls a "part".
Some people say I'm lucky and it's like getting a new truck.
Well, here is what happens this week - I get a message on Facebook
asking me why I haven't written to one of the winners of my show on Facebook? I don't know.
I had no idea what he was talking about - he tells me that Andrew Jones who won my event last year and was just a judge this past April is in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant.
Wait a second - I just saw
this guy. It's May and I saw him in April.
I go to his page and see him doing push ups in the hospital and send him a message - "what the heck are you doing?" yeah it's true - he has a heart issue and has to wait for a new heart.
I'm going to visit him on
Saturday.
He is waiting for a new engine - and hopefully the part comes in soon. Not so funny right but you see why I started with that story? It's a big deal.
I didn't know and also sometimes you don't know if people want to publicly share their hardships and even writing this I wonder will I
upset someone? You never know.
I try to add some humor here but AJ is one of the best people you could meet - what did shock me though was I noticed he swears in his opening YouTube video? I think he may be trying to pull off a little Elliott Hulse, CT Flether, or the Hodge Twins? That is very unlike him because he is the nicest guy in the world and to hear him use bad language is
really weird - I'll have to talk to him about that...
Off to work
Talk Soon,
Brian
