2015 Fitness Atlantic Results

Published: Wed, 04/22/15

Hi,

Hope you are doing awesome.

It's just about two weeks from Fitness Atlantic and I'm seeing a lot of shared photos on Facebook and Instagram which is really nice to see.

I should have the edited video footage and backstage interviews this weekend.

I did notice a few people say comments about not being happy they didn't win even though I tried to explain during the meeting before the event that only one person could win each class and letting that upset you afterwards is sad as the results are so much better than a trophy. I told them that their body is their trophy.

When we think of the accomplishments over the contest part it makes it so much more of a positive experience.

Another show that happened a week after mine with a completely different federation I saw the promoter write that a second place guy ripped out of the place and threw his trophy in the garbage and I could tell by the promoters note he was upset the guy left that way... it's a total shame but that is what happens when people focus only on winning.

It's upsetting and I'm glad that 98% of the people in my show really had a good experience. The Fitness Atlantic this year was also my most grand at such an incredible venue and the stage was elaborate and second to none.

My very favorite division is the new Transformation Division! I've been talking about it for almost ten years now and it finally happened - flashing the "before" image on the stage backdrop as the contestant was called out on stage really was special.

The idea is everyone should feel like a winner and they really did.
People in Transformation had some really great stories of inspiration.

This may be my longest email ever but this stuff is so good so I hope you read most of it...

I have always been overweight. My time came 1/4/13 when I decided enough was enough and decided to better myself. I want to transform my body because this has been an on going struggle my whole life, and I used to always give up when things got tough. This is something I am not giving up on. What is most important to me is for others to see my journey. I want them to see they are not alone with their struggles and to spark the fire within them to begin their own journey.

All throughout my adolescent life I had no knowledge or interest in the sport called bodybuilding. I couldn’t even tell you what “fasted cardio” meant. On June 19, 2011, I made a critical decision that started my journey to become what I am today. I started with the program called weight watchers and lost seventy-five pounds. Then I transitioned into bodybuilding, made friendships along the way, and really learned how to sculpt my body. Bodybuilding has changed me and my life forever. Thank You!

I have been transforming my body over 4 years now. I started at 320 lbs. I dieted constantly for 3 years. I found myself in an unhealthy state at 170 lbs and 7% body fat. Now I am balanced and healthy. I currently am 203 lbs 12%. I am going to loose the fat I have on me and come to your show shredded. I have written a book titled From Gut To Cut showing others how to transform themselves. I am going to destroy the myth that you cannot loose the excess skin through diet and exercise.

At only 5ft tall 253lbs i knew something had to change fast. I was heading down a path of self-destruction. Being a single mom I needed to be there for my daughter. I started by joining a gym and eating "healthy". I was about 80lbs down and my life spiraled out of control and all eating habits and working out was gone. I gained 24lbs of it back. I managed to gain control and get 18lbs of it gone and then I was introduced to the WBFF training. Never in my life would I think of myself as an athlete, but I was about to embark on the most life changing experience. I needed to do this, I needed the disciple and knowledge if i was ever going to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I also needed to finish what I started almost 3yrs ago. Through all the struggles and triumphs I knew the end would be the most rewarding and if I just gave it a little more effort it would make the experience that much better. I pushed and pushed and I am coming to you on April 11th 100+lbs lighter and ready to take on the world. I have gained more than muscle and I’ve lost more than fat. I am taking away from this experience a self-confidence I never knew existed. I am stronger, smarter, faster, happier and more confident than I ever have been. But most importantly, I am alive. I am living, I am laughing and I love myself more. I want to inspire and lead by example, I want others to say, "Amanda did it so can I." I want my daughter to see her happy healthy mom and be proud of my accomplishments. This transformation was more than changing my physical appearance. I changed my outlook on life and how I should live it. I am powerful inside and out...I am an athlete.
