I have to admit.
Sometimes I get frustrated... I pour my heart into Fitness Atlantic and give it everything I got!
Yet, many people compare my fitness event to "every other contest".
Many people just don't realize an old school style bodybuilding contest has just one spotlight with a black curtain with a DJ and a couple speakers?
Thing is many people have never even been to one show - so they really have no idea how to compare events so they consider them all the same.
Fitness contests are a small niche market and many people have never been to one unless they have family in the event. Most people only find out about them from friends who compete.
Now to me the good competitions need to be known as "events" and they should be more entertaining than ever.
The goal should be to draw in an audience of spectators that are not ONLY the family and friends of the competitors but people that genuinely WANT to watch your event.
A show needs great lighting, fun music and planned down to the very last minute as choreographed by the producer.
A show should be engaging with most of your senses. You want your audience to feel the music and the energy of the competitors. You want them to see how spectacular of an event they are attending that you have created.
With that being said putting on a show also has an amazing affect on the contestants!
Those who are competing on your stage will see and feel the energy of the crowd and will set their spirits much higher. They will feel that they are participating in a grand event, almost as if they are participating in history in the making.
The best part? If you execute your event as a show, you WILL be putting on a grand event that will put EVERY CONTESTANT on the map and feel like a star!
While there are many events that are held that do not have a large following, this is all because they have failed to put on a show! Events like the Oscars, EMMY, Music Awards and even the SuperBowl all have one thing in common, they put on a show!
When you attend any of these events you are not only going to see for the purpose of the event (i.e. awards and championships) you are also going to see the show that they have promised and that they are known for.
They have spectacular lighting effects, live music entertainers, and lively hosts. That is not including the amazing participants! Crowds will always gather to be entertained. People will want to tell the people they know about the show they attended and you will keep people coming back for more.
Again, the more people you get attending your event, the more notoriety THE CONTESTANTS will gain. The more notoriety you gain, the more attention THEY will grab!
