Fitness Teams

Published: Sun, 01/21/18

There is such an upside to trainers, studio or gym owners to use the show as a goal
and put clients and members into the event especially the Transformation Challenge

You may think to yourself "Why?" The answer is GOALS

How many clients talk about goals when starting a gym membership or personal training package but never really stay committed to reaching goals and changing their bodies.

We have a few training teams that focus on the open divisions and helping clients enter yet the focus is so much about winning a Pro Card.

I've always been a person to focus on RESULTS

Personally I like to focus on GOALS and RESULTS

I guess a Pro Card is a Goal and Result but how do you really help a client with that?
As a trainer you don't control how many other people show up in that division and class.

Years ago I remember someone coming to me and saying,
"I want you to train me if you can guarantee I can win."

I told him I had to pass and he should find another trainer.

The guy went on and found another trainer and he won his welterweight class of two people. I thought he looked so skinny, sick and unhealthy. Regardless the guy won. He never competed again.

He got his trophy with 1st Place and was finished. Mission accomplished I guess?

I think most people miss the point and focus on the wrong things or not depending how you look at it?

Two important factors are:

1. Actually sticking to a consistent plan and starting and following through. Half the people who consider entering a show quit before they get there. Think about that 50% talk themselves out of getting on stage.

2. Seeing results and appreciating and being happy with what you did. Nobody is happy when they think they LOST A CONTEST. People then look for reasons they didn't win and come up with angry things to say about not winning. Focus on the body changes and physical results and change the way you feel about the show outcome.

Today I'm going to CKO Kickboxing Headquarters gym in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Last year they ended up with 8 in Transformation and this year's goal is 15.

I think it's great!

They run a 10 Week Challenge for members leading into the show as the finale.

Think about getting your gym involved and let me know how I can help.
