Show Prep Kicks in this Weekend

The following photos are of DJ and he has entered the show in the past.

He started few years back with the Transformation Division and was featured in Status Fitness Magazine.

He likes to post his weekly check-in photos that he sends to his online coach.

Posting progress photos for YOU may not be the way to go?
I explain below the reason why.

Tomorrow is officially 13 weeks out to Fitness Atlantic.

Some of the images below show a "calendar".

I'm a big believer in using a calendar system with show prep.

When it comes to prepping for a show I prefer a very "methodical" plan.

I believe in body fat caliper measurements, a scale, and planned approach
to working backwards from the planned show date.

The Weekly Check-In's is how we kept everyone on point. We used to have all
of the people in prep mode show up Sunday mornings for check-in's.

Show Prep can become very systematic once you know the basics and have
a plan. Thing is - it is a Weekly Plan. Adjustments are made weekly.

I'd had clients ask for all 12 week meal plans in advance and what do they do...
they try and jump forward to follow week 6 when it's week 12 and that doesn't
help at all.

Most of the people I have worked with who fell off their diets and quit prep usually
tried to "hack the system" and went way too-strict way too soon. They cut carbs way too
soon, they over-do cardio, and they lower calories way too much too soon.

Reaching a weekly check-in goal of dropping a pound of fat or two is what gets
you the leanest and most fit over a period of time.

Many people stress out over how they look in the mirror about each week's condition
like it's show week. Personally I'd say but hold off on posting publicly
until you have the finished product and show the series of before and afters.

Here is what can happen.

If you post a 12 week photo in a pose and someone comments that you don't
look like you can be ready to win in 12 weeks people get discouraged and stop.

Work the plan instead.

Use the calendars below and get someone to work with you on weekly check-ins.

Hire a trainer or a coach.

Even if you know what you are doing do weekly check-in's.
