Is competing expensive?

Published: Wed, 11/29/17

Can you stay on a tight budget and still enter a show?

Yes you can. (Some people will read this email and disagree regardless what I write here but I know very successful people who have entered shows with spending very little.)

I can tell you of so many people who went into a show with a basic cheap swimsuit and first time on stage and won the whole show hands down.

First off it's usually more so about if someone actually wants to do something bad enough because it is easy to just say, "it's too expensive." and don't do anything at all.

I heard a few people say that it cost them $10,000 to enter a show? Really? How?

Of course I had to ask how they spent that?
Some people pay a thousand dollars a month online trainer, all the food they eat and they pay some prepared meal company to make it at three hundred a week, they buy a thousand dollar bikini packed with Swarovski crystals, a crazy theme wear outfit better than Victoria Secret models would have not only better but it takes 3 people to carry the thing. They go completely crazy.

You don't need all that...

Excuses are sometimes very legitimate concerns - but many times they are just excuses.

What does this have to do with you?

You could either be thinking about doing Fitness Atlantic in 2018 or you are waiting for an excuse to show up.

Let me explain...

Excuses people use in fitness to get out of something are always the same...

These 4 are it so if you are a trainer learn these because you will hear them a lot.

Time, Commitment, Money and Spouse

Time - They may say something like... "I'm not sure I have the time for that. My schedule is busy and I work a lot. I'll wait...maybe I'll do it but for now I'll use TIME as my excuse."

Commitment - This one reason isn't the hardest to overcome... "I think there is a wedding that day let me check and I'll get back to you. After the holidays is better. I can't commit right now because I think I might be busy that day." This is a big "maybe" leading up to a acting disappointed and saying "sorry I'm out".

Money - Super hard to overcome the money concern yet you know it isn't that expensive "I can't afford it right now." People shut you right down with this... "I don't have the money right now" Best excuse to stop doing anything in life. "I can't afford it."

Spouse - You know they are not going to really ask permission... "Let me ask my husband or wife." You know you really didn't go home and ask politely "Can I please enter a fitness show? No, oh okay thanks for saying no because I wasn't really committed and plus I don't really have the money and now I have more time to hang out and watch television because time is really limited for me and now I'll have extra time."

So many times I hear people say in general terms "Competing is too expensive."

I just shake my head because that is completely up to them and how much they decide to spend.

First you never know how much is TOO MUCH for somebody before they say they can't afford it.

Entering Fitness Atlantic the entry hasn't changed since 2010 so that's a long time being the same price.
It's $199 entry and $135 to WBFF Fee and tax so it ends up $349. The extra class is $149 to do a 2nd division.

What people go crazy on is spending on expensive suits while you can get bikinis for the show at $168 to $199 on this website http://www.lidiaconti.com/ready-made-suits. These suits are fine and the gown can be from any department store. You may want to join this Facebook Group as well for deals on suits, theme wear and gowns called WBFF - Bikini, Themewear & Gown Buy, Sell, Trade

The Transformation Division the contestants wear "off-the-rack" suits.

So the Entry Fee for a show held at Mohegan Sun has been the same price for years. Suits you don't have to go spending thousands on custom made stuff and some people borrow or rent them.

Other costs could be the show tanning  which is very fair on the fee and who would ever want to buy tanning product and do it themselves to save a few bucks. The old days of applying your own tan product were very sloppy and uneven and people came out green all the time. What a mess tanning used to be before it became all professional.

I also hear the whispers of "they charge you for hair and make up" but I actually don't add that to your entry and Tiffany has been offering incredible hair and make up packages so long that her old last name is still on my website. I've heard at other shows girls run around to find local malls to go to the make up section at Macy's to have some MAC person do their make up. At Mohegan Tiffany is up at 3am in the morning starting the make up right in a close breakout room next to the ballroom. If you know how to do it yourself then that's fine too.

The value you get from Fitness Atlantic is absolutely there. The venue is perfect, the 4 Star hotel is right upstairs, your friends and family will love to attend, this show is not cheaply run and the production is incredible.

If you hear anything that you have a question about that concerns you then please reach out.

The tanning company and hair and makeup people are excellent and convenient.
