Hey,
I didn't tell you about this yesterday but on Sunday we had a really great show prep workshop.
We had 18 people show up. Some travel maybe 2 hours while most live close by.
We still have people
waiting to enter...
I'm
the type of event producer that really tries to focus on helping beginners into the show.
Don't get me wrong if people travel and enter into Fitness Atlantic that is fine and many good
people have done that over the years. I just spend more time talking with people who are from
Connecticut,
New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. As a promoter I feel
it is good to go to workshops and talk with the people entering well before the show.
I was in New Jersey Saturday talking with a group of new people. Not only do people have
questions but there are so many
misconceptions and rumors about these physique contests.
It's great to talk with people and laugh and make it fun.
There is only a couple more posing workshops left.
Only one in CT and one or two in RI and one or two more in NY - that's it.
I'm lucky of two things:
First I really enjoy helping first-time people enter into a fitness show AND
second the first-time people bring the biggest audience. Fitness Atlantic gets a great crowd.
I knew when I
entered my first show in 1991 I sold a ton of tickets for people to watch my
first show and the 2nd less came and by the 3rd people were like, "Good luck with that". LOL
Most friends and family get bored of physique shows but not this one. It's held at a great venue.
The main part I enjoy more than anything is organizing the show from minute to minute
and working with the lighting designers and picking the music. That is my thing!
I'm pretty confident this year the lights will be the best yet. I really think we nailed
it.
We shall see!
I've always sorta felt disappointed knowing the amount of moving head lights we had and
not seeing as much as we possibly could in production. This year I think you are going to
see a noticeable
different. It is going to be cool.
I hired the lighting designer to pre-program the entire show lighting to what is going on
in the schedule and the music that plays. I had goosebumps watching the 3D rendering
of the different light programs. There is a clip of a video on my
Instagram so check it out
Stuff like the lighting isn't normal and honestly most people cut it out due to the expense.
I run one show a year and I don't want to cut expenses especially on lighting.
It's going to be great!
We had a BIG ticket day yesterday but great seats are still available.
Here is the seating chart.
