Hi,
Entering a fitness show is a personal decision and the reason you decide could be one of many.
Most times it is just a case of seeing a friend do the show the year before. Some times it is because someone at the gym asked you if you "compete" so you figure you would try it.
Whatever reason inspired you to enter a show there are many more reasons you can talk yourself out of entering a show.
It is very important to meet some people who are also going through the same thoughts and connect. You want connect with people going through the same thing.
This is a big reason we run
in-person workshops.
Should you travel to a workshop?
I believe if you could drive to a workshop in a reasonable time it is so worth it.
What is reasonable - that all depends on you - I drive a lot so it isn't a big deal to
me.
We are holding Connecticut workshops on Sundays starting in Jan.
It is important to surround yourself with others who are also doing the show.
Why? Because friends, family and co-workers may
keep asking you "What are you doing that for?"
and add a sarcastic tone as you say that.
You may start to doubt yourself...
The other thing is you have to be positive and tell
people you are doing the show.
When you say "I AM DOING IT." That is much more powerful.
Once you tell people you are doing it then you will have complete focus.
If you are
uncommitted you'll likely find an excuse.
Once you are on stage you will win for yourself. Everyone on stage is a winner.
To Your Success,
Brian
