Hi,
When you are passionate about something you promote it like crazy.
One of my passions was really promoting people to enter fitness shows.
Few times people made fun of me for promoting "How to" Books but I'm still proud of it.
One of the chapters was finding your
ULTIMATE REASON WHY You Want To Change Your Physique
Psychologists have long known if you can find a good enough reason WHY to do something…
you’ll find a way.
A potent reason why you want to transform your physique is needed to get you moving when
your body just wants to sit there. There are times you are going to feel tired, confused, doubtful,
and insecure.
How will you get through these tough times with faith and with your reason why you want to.
I call it The Ultimate Reason Why because it can’t be something like I just want to feel better
about myself, or it sure would be nice to look good for swimsuit season.
These are natural desires, but you need something more than this to get you over any obstacles
that get in your way.
It needs to come from within.
Let me give you an example of an Ultimate Reason Why and the potential power of it.
There was a young Navy sailor who longed to be a Navy Seal. When he first learned about
the Navy Seals he thought, “Cool, I get paid to be a super hero, and do all these cool things!”
This was his casual desire.
It was fleeting.
In fact, this is the last thing he would say in the middle of Hell Week
(The tortuous 7 day long initiation of Navy Seals called Hell Week involves the risk of:
a broken neck, drowning, hypothermia, hallucination, and delirium from lack of sleep,
and a barrage of other ailments too long to list).
Looking at this 19-year-old sailor, weighing 155lbs., no one would expect him to last 10 minutes,
let alone finish Hell Week.
But inside him, where no one could see, was his Ultimate Reason Why.
As he saw it, he didn’t have much in life.
No father. No money. Nothing.
But here was an opportunity to create value in his life.
Something no one could ever touch or take away.
This was his Ultimate Reason Why and no obstacle was bigger than it. Nothing.
He not only got through hell week but also had a long successful career as a Navy Seal
with his Ultimate Reason Why pushing him every step of the way.
Now think about your own life.
I want you think about the real reason you want to improve yourself.
Even a negative experience can be a powerful motivator.
Either as a desire not to let it happen again or just as fuel to the fire when channeled
to something productive for taking action toward your goals.
Some questions to get you thinking:
What gets your blood boiling just thinking about it?
Is there some injustice you that you were to weak at the time to correct?
Did someone do something against your will or ever bully you?
On a daily basis what kind of massive frustration do you encounter?
Don’t waste your time going postal on someone. Channel your anger and rage
into your workouts.
Release it by pushing yourself to not only endure on your program, but to thrive.
Use it to overcome the “I don’t feel like it today attitude.”
Use it to keep moving toward your goal.
Once you have your Ultimate Reason Why, you can easily glide into the next step.
I thought that might be good to send as today's email but let me explain.
The people in Transformation are able to tell their reason why they put themselves through this process. It is motivating to hear what inspired them.
I hear a lot of people who enter fitness shows called them "contests" and it is strictly only about winning.
While I try to make this fun time for everyone and one big performance of an event.
The contest part of the show is the driver, the motivation to do well and try to win.
Some people think the Pro Card is the Ultimate Reason Why - but really it is NOT.
The Pro Card is the GOAL but not your Ultimate Reason Why.
There is a deeper driver that each of us has that makes us start and go through this process.
There is a bigger reason that is very personal to you.
Whatever you have to prove.
That's what motivates you.
