Hey,
Hope you are doing awesome!
So it's TEN WEEKS out to the "Show" and you may notice I call it a SHOW and not just a quote on quote
"contest".
There is a reason for me doing that.
You see I think the of entire Fitness Atlantic event as a FAN would sitting in the audience and waiting for it to start. I think of every detail of that day.
Some people ONLY think as a contestant and "I got 1st or 2nd place..."
or "I did get my Pro Card or I didn't get my Pro Card."
Sure placings are important to drive you to be at your best and hope your outcome is at number one spot.
The goal of mine is that all of the contestants walk away thinking about how grand the Entire Event
is and the audience is looking forward to coming back. Was it truly "AMAZING" and were you glad to be a part of it.
There are physique contests all around us all of the time. So what sets some more apart than others?
A show is something that people come to watch and be entertained. There are many events that take place that attract a huge following, you have to learn how to use this very simple tool when you are putting on a fitness event. If you think about it in terms as a fitness contest, not many people are going to want to attend. You have to set yourself and your EVENT apart from the others. The more people you attract, the bigger your following will become and the more
notoriety you will gain, not only for yourself but for your event.
Why is the presentation of your show so important? Presentation means everything!
That is why I love Mohegan Sun because it is an
attraction.
If you were a spectator and you attended a show and it was a simple stage with very minimalistic décor and subpar production, the only thing that is going to be on your mind is how fast it will end so you can leave.
You will not be thinking that you want to see that event ever again.
You want your family and friends to WANT to come back for more.
You want to have them talking about the quality of your show.
When you have your audience's attention grabbed they will want to tell their friends about it. They might know someone who might want to compete in the next show! Or perhaps they will be inspired to enter themselves! Remember even if your event is a great one, if the presentation is lacking, you will appear to not have a good show and your audience will not be eager to return.
You want to put on a show! It is not just a contest!
Our goal is to draw in an audience of spectators that are not just the family and friends of the competitors but people that genuinely WANT to watch your event.
When a show has great lighting, fun music
and planned down to the very last minute as choreographed by the producer. A show is engaging with most of your senses. You want your audience to feel the music and the energy of the competitors. You want them to see how spectacular of an event they are attending that you have created. With that being said putting on a show also has an amazing affect on the competitors!
Those who are on your stage will see and feel the energy of the crowd and will set their spirits much higher. They will feel that they are participating in a grand event, almost as if they are participating in history in the making. The best part? If you execute your event as a show, you WILL be putting on a grand event that will put everyone on stage on the map.
While there are many events that are held that do not have a large following, this is all because they have failed to put on a show! Events like the Oscars, EMMY, Music Awards and even the SuperBowl all have one thing in common, they put on a show and NOT just a contest!
When you attend any of these events you are not only
going to see for the purpose of the event (i.e. awards and championships) you are also going to see the show that they have promised and that they are known for. They have spectacular lighting effects, live music entertainers, and lively hosts. That is not including the amazing participants! Crowds will always gather to be entertained. People will want to tell the people they know about the show they attended and you will keep people coming back for more. Again, the more people you get attending
your event, the more notoriety you will gain. The more notoriety you gain, the more attention you will grab!
You want that audience!
I look forward to seeing you on the stage in April at Mohegan
Sun.
