How awesome is that Instagram post above from Vanessa Spence!
Winning a trophies is a great thing.
If you have been to one of my fitness events you know I always tell the contestants that
"Your body is your trophy".
I say this because depending how you look at it you can feel amazing or feel sad or angry.
Entering a show could be a total let down for placing second instead of winning.
It really depends in how you explain how you did when people ask how you placed.
If you respond, "I got 2nd Place", many people turn that into a negative saying
- You should have won! Blah, Blah, Blah...
Think of Vanessa she writes "Can't wait for the next chapter"
sorta says she is going back - yet not one post talks about how she placed...
simply 1st Show, 2nd Show, 3rd Show
Many contestants don't even place in the top ten and still feel very proud of their accomplishment. You know how hard it is to stand on a stage in front of all those people and try to win a trophy for the way you look? Heck most people I know who get on stage in a bikini find it is a major confidence builder.
The end goal should be simply making it to the event and being able to stand on stage because out of all the people who workout very few can reach a fitness goal and they even struggle dropping a few pounds.
In reality is learning to get results with fitness is a huge win in itself.
Having a goal to work towards and trying to win trophies is important and enjoying the process and knowing the results are positive. More importantly you are going to walk around with a much better trophy to show off and that is a much better version of yourself.
Enter today and push yourself!

I look forward to see you in April!
