Thinking about entering the show but haven't entered yet?
Couple things could be going on and waiting to commit can work against you.
You may wonder which day you will feel ripped enough when you wake up one morning and all the sudden you look incredible and just know you will win?
You are waiting for someone to do it for you...
Or there is a little voice in your head that tells you there is a chance of backing out.
We all get caught up in our own self-doubt.
However, if you get in your head, you’re dead. The brain is a great tool to strategize with, but there’s a point where you have to use your heart, put yourself on the line, and do something. Instead of thinking too much, commit to a decision, act on it, and move yourself forward.
What’s one small decision you could make right now that would take you in the direction you need to go?
What’s a big decision that might be really tough, but if you made it, it would take you in a new direction in your life?
A lot of people tend to make “sorta kinda” decisions. Here’s the secret behind why people don’t follow through: The reason people don’t commit to a decision is that they don’t act on it.
You may have thought that it’s the other way around – that you have to commit to a decision before you act on it. But the only way to prove to yourself that you’re completely committed to a decision and are going to follow through is if you push yourself to take the first step – which is the hardest step to take.
If you don’t act, your dreams will die in your mind. When you make a decision, commit yourself to it by taking the first step toward it right then and there. Otherwise, you’ll go home, get caught up in the 87 other things you need to do, and you won’t make any headway. Take some form of action that will move you in the direction you want to go.
Find someone who has achieved the results that you want – they lost 30 pounds, or they have their dream career, or they’re just truly happy with their life. Finding someone who inspires you in this way is called modeling, and it’s a great way to determine the steps you need to take to reach your goal. Find out what steps this person took to get where they are today. What decision did they commit to and act on that pushed them forward and made them take that first step into the future they
wanted?
Twelve weeks out is usually when people start being strict on a meal plan and getting weekly check-ins with a trainer or coach. For the most part there is really no need to start way out - typically most people could get ready for a show in 12 weeks.
So if you started earlier you are already ahead of the game!
And that is a good thing.
First thing would normally be to enter the show.
If you don't enter it leaves to many undecided questions and you likely question yourself with questions like: "Will I be ready?" which leads doubting yourself.
Honestly almost everyone feels like they are not ready right up to the show and during.
Feeling you will win and feeling super confident usually isn't going though many if any people's heads. Plus you never know who will show up. That's the stuff that makes people mentally flip out - so try not to worry about anyone else and focus on yourself.
You know what you could accomplish in twelve weeks?
It's pretty crazy. A LOT!
Whatever you are doing to prepare should be progressive.
Each week you get better.
It only takes small weekly changes.
So number one is enter and get all doubts out of your head.
I'm IN and DON'T let people talk you out of it because they will try.
You know why people want to talk you out of entering?
Because getting in shape is hard for other people and you know why that is...
Because they refuse to follow any plan. So they tell you it's "too restrictive" and even "unhealthy" plus all the other things they say so YOU FAIL and them being out of shape and lazy is now justified for them.
How does that help you. Stay the course and don't get talked out if it.
Right now you just might have a toe in the water and haven't jumped fully in.
