Show Updates and Changes

Published: Sun, 02/23/14

Hi,

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and prepping your meals and planning your workouts for the upcoming week.

7 weeks out to the 2014 Fitness Atlantic and hope you are feeling excited and little bit nervous at the same time... it's normal to feel nervous and going through the mind games of "am I going to be ready?", type of stuff we all did doing these events. Try not to worry and you will be fine.

The show prep on this end has been going well, the theatre is set, tickets are on sale and the first workout with Shaun T is sold out. We are anticipating the second workout will sell out as well. We are working on the stage design, lighting, and photography, and how to get more exposure for everyone in the show.

Next Sunday is another Connecticut workshop for anyone who can attend; they are going to be every two weeks. The last workshop had great attendance, and people who come to the workshops learn so much and are very prepared.

Yesterday I was in New York City for a workshop and the city is always fun.

If you haven't heard the WBFF updated a shoe rule for women. The new rule is:
Starting in 2014 the WBFF will NOT be allowing clear heels on stage and switching them out in favor of non-clear stiletto heels to coincide with the WBFF's fitness and fashion brand.

Being the first show of the year we get a lot of questions about the shoes, but almost every girl understands why there is a change. It isn't just because they are called "stripper shoes", it is for for an overall upgrade of the image of the WBFF. As fitness people we forget how unusual we can come across to the people at the fancy hotels and the elaborate venues we try to use for our athletes. If you have entered these shows before, you would have noticed athletes checking-in with old sweats, flip flops and orange faces. The hotel clerks look at each other thinking "who are these people?".  I know and I used to be one of the orange faced barbecue chicken looking people years ago.

The WBFF truly wants every contestant to be viewed in the best way possible and that is on or off the stage. It may sound like something strange how clear heel shoes can make girls look any less than beautiful, but a heel or platform that you would normally wear with a dress or out in public can change someone's perception.

The WBFF also wants the men and women to dress fashionably going into the athlete meeting at the hotel on Friday before the show. People are going to take pictures and post on social media and the more high-end and classy we can look, the better the image is for everyone.

If you have not registered yet people go here and fill out the form and IF you did fill out the form but didn't pay to enter you will have to fill it out again:
