Eight Days Out!
I see contestants posting about starting Peak Week!
Peak week is 7 days out from a show when people make any adjustments in their meal plans.
Mostly they cut out some carbohydrates from Sunday to Wednesday and they add some carbs back Wednesday night leading to the show while cutting out any foods with sodium. They drink distilled water and tweak things so they look more ripped.
Main thing is if you did your homework and you are ready there isn't much to do now.
Many people stop lifting three days before the event and just coast in.
Not much you can do if your not ready - what's done is done.
Nothing you could do about it so don't stress.
Nerves are the worst. Being nervous can bloat you.
Many years ago I did a big show and four weeks out I was my best ever. After everyone had advice for me I screwed up my diet while I was way better 4 weeks earlier. Thing was I was so nervous and the nerves and stressed me out. I just couldn't relax.
I remember asking this amazing contestant if he messed with his sodium and water and he said, "No." That was it just a plain "No". That guy went on and won that night.
Donna and I visited a lot of workshops this year and we hold them on Sundays in CT. We go through posing AS IF the contestants are going to go through it
next Saturday.
We have one final session this Sunday at 11am at A1 Fitness in Orange, CT.
Then we will see everyone on Friday at Mohegan. Friday is spray tanning and registration, Saturday is Prelims at 10am and Finals at 6pm, then Sunday is Shaun T workout at
9am.
If any of your friends or family still would like to attend Fitness Atlantic please tell them to buy a ticket in advance for next Saturday. The show is taking place in the Uncas Ballroom inside the Convention Center. Online tickets will be shut down
Wednesday next week and then only available at the door.
The Finals Gala for Fitness Atlantic at Mohegan Sun has under 40 tickets for General Admission left and 200 VIP Tickets before it sells out.
The Morning Show at 10:00am has 900 tickets available for sale the day of the show which will be sold at the Uncas Ballroom starting at 9:00am the ticket booth will open.
