Last year the WBFF Fitness Atlantic was on April 11th and this year it is on April 9th yet it feels like it is weeks earlier?
Yet at the same time it doesn't feel like it is so close being exactly 14 days away. Strange huh?
What is nice is that Easter is
tomorrow for those who celebrate and it is always nice when a holiday is before the show. Here is what happens - you or the contestants go to see your family and you don't eat the holiday food. Nope you don't eat any chocolate bunnies instead you eat chicken and asparagus out of tupperware stinking up the house. The family looks at you and asks why you are not eating and you end up talking about the show. Little marketing action going on for Fitness Atlantic tickets (haha) yup ticket sales
happening...
It is also nice when the day of the show it rains so don't be surprised to see me doing a rain dance at Mohegan the morning of the show. Rain sells more tickets too.
But seriously last year we sold out a week in advance and we are close now. Last year the general admission tickets sold first then the VIP after and this year it is reverse the VIP are
almost gone.
On the Entries the Late Fee kicks in today. Two weeks out a $50 Late Fee starts and next week goes to $100 for being extra late. We still have some stragglers I know of
out there posting selfies about the show yet have not registered? I don't understand but it really messes us up with organization.
Last year we ended up with 208 contestants and that was a really big show. This year it is a normal year in the 150 range so we are planning all of our special choreography of the Opening Number, Theme Wear Spectacular and Parade of Gowns. We also have a larger stage and backstage holding areas so the contestants can basically be up on the stage behind a curtain on the sides with multiple staircases so we could make the show a true
performance.
The hotel bookings are way up as well. We sold over 300 room nights for this event. People just love Mohegan Sun. It is an incredible venue for a show. Many of the room nights could also be from the Shaun T people as well.
We hold a ShaunTervention on Sunday with Shaun T from Insanity and Cize. The guy from TV who does the workout videos. We have 968
people coming to do the workout routine and meet Shaun T and his crew. The goal is 1200 so we are still pushing for attendees. That registration starts at 7am and from 8am to 2pm the entire ballroom is jammed packed with the live workout using the same stage and lights. It is really amazing to watch.
