I'm sitting here drinking coffee and eating my eggwhites.
I was just about finished with a long email about motivation killers.
Many people think they are positive and quotes writers but they do nothing.
Then my computer froze up.
I tried to right-copy and save the email.
Unfortunately I couldn't save it. Had to reboot.
Now I have to rush to the office and the 2nd email is different.
Setbacks like that or missing meals or workouts happen and some people well it freaks them
out.
I was not writing about that though... that is nothing.
I was writing about people CRUSHING your motivation.
(Damn, it was a good email too.)
I was trying to get deep into just how EASY it is for people to smash your
goals. Thing is many of these people are friends and family...
I was writing a story about a girl that did the show for the first time last year. She made huge changes
in her body and went out and accomplished her goal of doing it. Now as we go into 2016 why wouldn't
she do it again?
Why?
First, I'll just say it is confidence that makes people better on stage and people get better and better as they do more events and walk out on stage. That is something you just can't prepare for without experience.
So right away it is very likely most people place higher the next time they do a
show.
What really happens is people say things that trigger something in your head that makes you think you don't need or really want to do the show again.
Many times people wouldn't notice what exactly that is.
It doesn't seem negative but it is...
Maybe someone you were trying to impress wasn't really into the whole show thing?
Maybe someone told you that you could have placed just a little higher?
Maybe they told you they were being honest with you that you just don't look ready for this year?
So you go to the gym and go through the
motions. Why even go?
You eat whatever you want and don't really care. As long as you don't get too fat.
What are you going to accomplish in 2016? Are you doing anything amazing?
Sometimes the "not-to-sure about 2016", I'll wait for my motivation to come back, maybe next time, that can
change in ONE SECOND.
All that has to happen is someone says,
"Are you going to do that show again? Let's do it together!"
BOOM!
Motivation comes out of nowhere.
Get
your head back in it!
Stay the course,
Brian
