Warning - This trainer is BAD NEWS

So the other day someone wrote on my personal Facebook page leaving a comment that my fitness event has changed and it’s all about business now?

I was shocked because I would have never in a million years guessed this person would out of nowhere write a post on my page in any negative way.

I sent her a massage to try to understand what happened and she replied:

This isn't about money Brian this is about the sport it use to be FITNESS GIRLS, FIGURE GIRLS AND BIKINI GIRLS AND YOU EVEN HAD WOMEN BODY BUILDERS. MEN BODY BUILDERS AND THE MODELS it was really GREAT time and I'm just telling you how I feel. Delete it if you don't want to hear it. Al the best.

Honestly, I don’t even remember the last time the show offered female bodybuilding (maybe 2004?) as it always had around 4 contestants and the male bodybuilders dropped down to under 15 of them in total, which were in multiple weight divisions. Was it bad business removing those divisions? Maybe the first year I took them out because some people couldn't do those classes but then the number started growing and last year was one of the best years ever.

In fitness we lost the routines but Diva Fitness Model is much bigger, bodybuilding is gone with routines but we have Muscle Model and Men’s Fitness Model, and Figure and Bikini are still there.

Something must have happened recently to get angry over it because she was a master’s bikini and figure contestant who always placed top five. Most likely a different event promoter is convincing her to switch shows and go do some little high school auditorium event.

Something usually always happens.

Let me tell you this story as an example:

Over the summer I went to workout at a gym I usually don’t go because it is out of the way.
As I was walking in I saw a guy I knew from years ago that I haven’t seen in a long time. After shaking hands and saying hello he told me he had trained someone for my show that past April. Actually I knew the person he was talking about and I had heard that contestant was not happy with their results.

I asked the trainer – Hey, I heard a rumor that person wasn’t happy but he/she placed so well in the show for the first time don’t you think he/she should be really happy. Would that person ever do the show again?

He said NO! Absolutely not and your judges don’t know what they are looking at.

I said Come On Really – it was 3rd place out of a big class! That’s great!

He said NO! Do you realize the difference at the Mr Olympia between 2nd and 3rd could be hundreds of thousands of dollars? It’s a huge deal.  My client had mature muscle bellies and 2nd place person didn’t.

After that I knew this dude was crazy. He wasn’t even at the show.  That's right he didn't even come watch his client. Plus mature muscle to not mature muscle – that means nothing if the other person looks and presents better. The judges were 100% correct in their decision.

I realized he is a whack-a-do and shouldn’t be training anyone for shows if he is going to completely discredit their entire experience.

I was like Okay! Gotta go! Have a nice day.

Usually people prep for the show and post stuff all the time even tagging me out and at the show they are fine but then as time passes and somebody tells them some crazy stuff that sets them off and makes them loonie toons.

Could be a trainer or a boyfriend but they could ruin everything.

This GREAT positive life-changing experience turns to be the most negative day of their life just by someone changing their outlook.

Your body is your trophy! I say that all the time.

Make the most of entering a fitness event.

Most Importantly Have Fun!

See you in April
